My Father is a current patient at Vasona Creek and I’m making a heartfelt review about the admissions director Omar Rumero. I heard how he talks to other patients and he is very kind and passionate about his job. I appreciate all the good services and discussions that we’ve had, he has done an excellent job! I also want to highlight how full of life the facility is with engaging activities and a top quality rehab team. I have visited a nearby skilled nursing facility and I wasn’t impressed – Very disappointing with ridiculous fees for a private room. Choose Vasona for all your skilled nursing needs. A plus: Omar and the team worked very well with the hospital and the whole process was just wonderful!
This place is horrible at answering the phone at all 5 nurse stations. I’ve called and left multiple voicemails and I still haven’t received any call and it’s been over a week. mind you I left voicemails to 3 different people including the supervisor, not one person has called me back! They don’t communicate with their patients at all and they also give them medication that’s not on their chart. When I called to see what medication they gave my father they only had 1 in his chart. But they gave him more than 1 pill? This place sucks!!!
Staff were top-notch. Caring, knowledgeable, supportive, professional and did whatever it took to encourage the patient to do his or her very best. Kudos to them!
Once you get to know the lvn’s and nurses they treat you really good and the physical therapy and occupation therapy are great and the memory care is amazing for only having one person who does it for all the patients that need it the place is always clean and I appreciate my stay to recover after surgery and I almost didn’t make it out of surgery so I needed to learn everything again last but not least the activity team is amazing from bingo to chair yoga and arts and crafts plus games I would like to say thank you Vasona creek Healthcare

DO NOT BRING YOUR FAMILY MEMBER TO THIS AWFUL PLACE!!!!! When you want to transfer your family member from this hell hole the social service team will lie to you about helping you transfer. When requesting your family’s clinicals Kyla in social services will only give you half of what you requested. Kyla and her team will do everything they can to make you stay at this HELL HOLE! This place is loud and smell like feces and urine, very noisy. out of control patient and aggressive that will try to confront you! When you need to have a changing for your family member it will take between 20-30min urine/feces to get changed and wound clinic will not check the wounds as scheduled. When you want a nurse no nurses are to be found!

Do not send people you care about and love here. If you complain about bad food (spoiled), they dismiss it and say well if this person was home then you can control the nutrition they receive. There is one wing that you can tell is neglected and smells of rancid pee. The rest of the wings you can tell the staff cares. This is not put down the great employees that we encountered however there is a nurse and few others that dreads changing her patients when they have diarrhea that the food they served caused. Also, on the first floor at least 5 employees just sitting around on their phones. If they are on break there should be a break room area for them. Multi people were screaming for help on numerous occasions. Health inspector should investigate.

I took my mom to this facility and they were so kind and gentle with her. Especially Carlos, he helped answer all my questions and took care of all her needs.

I recommend Vasona! I took my dad here after he had a fall and hurt his hip. The staff were super friendly and nice, but most of all, my dad was more than happy with the service and attention they provided for him.
My father caught Covid while he was staying at this facility and died at Good Samaritan Hospital in January. They sent him to Good Samaritan Hospital with fluid in his lungs. He died 5 days later after he was admitted to the hospital. After 7 months, I am finally going to give my review for this facility. This was my dads third facility he stayed at. He chose the place because he said that the other places were trying to kill him. For those of you who have gone through this with your elderly parents, this is what you commonly hear. I loved the other places because they forced my father to eat right, exercise and take his medication. I read the reviews before my dad was sent here and the most recents ones where all bad. Patients complaining about poor treatment, no one answering the phones at the from desk, no communication with the doctors, Covid issues, etc. The first time and only time I was able to visit my dad I KNEW HE MADE A BIG MISTAKE IN CHOOSING THIS PLACE. The staff was running around like a bunch of zombies. Every face looked angry and tired. The ratio of nurse to patient, I would never got an answer for that. The biggest thing that stood out was that we as guests were forced to wear mask. I had no problem with that, safety for your loved ones and other patients. There were staff members walking around with no masks. The little things is what really stood out. My dad said he only got one session of rehab per day. He said that he wanted more. I told his nurse, who was not wearing a mask, and she said she would pass it along to the rehad facility. We never heard back from them. My dads TV remote did not work for the first week he was there and he told the staff. I looked at it and it was missing a battery. I told the nurse and she said they needed to contact maintenance. I asked don’t you just have a battery in your desk? I tried to get my dad to change facilities but he did not want to. I told my dad I did not have a good feeling about this place. My dad told me and my family that he got a new room mate a couple days ago because his last one died. I asked him to place change places and he said that he did not want to. I asked him to back to Plum Tree or the Los Gatos Terraces. He previously stayed at those facilities while recovering from injuries and was medically cleared from those facilities before he was discharged. When my dad died, I came to pick up belongings. WOW, talk about taking out the trash. They had my dad belongings in a clear plastic trash bag WITH HIS NAME MISSPELLED. Initially they lost the bag for a few weeks, but somehow the found it. I was taken to the basement where the property was kept to help look for it. Really? They had his name written on a cardboard box that we given my dad his Christmas gift in. They tore the box in half. My dad was missing one shoe, and all of his Christmas gifts that we gave him, some crossword puzzle books were missing. At least I got back the last Christmas card I ever gave my dad. I made a complaint with the CA Department of Public Health. I filed a complaint about his treatment, his property and their Covid policy. Boy what a waste of time that was. Even though they had some violations (Covid policy and property management) and the facility was cited for them, they are not actually fines at all or real penalties at all. Apparently all these violations do is bring down their Star rating. That is it. I was shocked that is all the punishment they received. The investigator said that is regards to my dads medical treatment, they would require a more detailed investigation which is he not able to do. I still never got back my dads last Christmas gifts back. Even though they were worth very little, I valued them because they made my dad laugh that day we gave them to him and that was the last time I ever saw him laugh. So, if you send your loved one here, know that others have died here. My dad was valued as much as the trash bag and the used cardboard box his name was misspelled on. I miss my dad everyday. If only if he had no chosen this place. What if!
Please do not bring your loved ones here. The staff will let the phone ring off the hook and not ever answer it. They treat family members concerns as annoyances and do not have a single sense of urgency. They ignore Paitents that are crying and pleading for help. It’s like everyone who works here is completely numb and tuned out which is so frightening because your leaving your loved one here to be cared for. It also smells like Feces in there, it’s not a clean place at all. If your loved one is in need of medical attention, they will not call an ambulance because this is a for profit establishment! Meaning They get paid only to keep Paitents IN and not for taking them OUT. Lastly, it’s extremely outdated, chaotically disorganized, and completely understaffed.
Amazing Health Center with friendly staff. Prime location! Thank you Mark, Omar, Carlos and Ellie!
I’m so thankful for the care my dad received at Vasona Creek after his stroke. The therapists were fantastic, working with him patiently and organizing his recovery plan to help him regain his strength and confidence. The nursing staff was truly wonderful—kind and attentive, making sure he was comfortable and well-cared for throughout his stay. The facility was clean and welcoming, which made a big difference. The CNAs were all attentive and available when needed. I highly recommend Vasona Creek to anyone needing rehabilitation services. They really made a positive impact on my dad’s recovery!
Thank you for the service you guys have provided for my aunt. Everyone is amazing.
The staff here are so kind and attentive, treating residents like family. The facility is clean, welcoming, and well-organized. They truly go above and beyond to make sure everyone feels safe, comfortable, and cared for.
The level of service here is phenomenal. Every member of staff genuinely cares about the people living here, and take care of each individual — like my uncle — with so much attention to detail and care. Would definitely recommend, very organized and efficient while still operating with empathy and real human compassion. My uncle has never been on a better track. 5/5 🙂
In reading some of the negative reviews, I have to say I’m a little confused. My mom was admitted just last week, and I’ve been visiting every evening during the weekdays. In all that time, I haven’t seen a single unfriendly face or unkind gesture. My mom who is very vocal when something isn’t right hasn’t had a single complaint. From what I’ve seen, the staff have been caring, attentive, and welcoming.
In looking at these bad reviews, I can’t help but agree with all the negative reviews. I feel like their words are exactly my words. My husband was there for two weeks about a couple of years ago, and couldn’t wait to get out. He was so happy to leave. Staff delayed or forgot to supply us with requested information, refused to turn off tv late at night despite being asked to do so, a patient next door to my husband repeatedly asking for help and staff would just keep telling they would be there. Half an hour later, they still didn’t show up to help him despite repeatedly telling him that they would be there. When I left for home he was still asking for help. Felt so bad for this man.
Vasona Creek should be at the very top of your list if you or your family is looking for a skilled nursing facility. We were treated with warmth and compassion from the moment we toured the facility through the end of the stay. I strongly recommend Vasona Creek, the rehab care was outstanding and we especially enjoyed getting to know our nursing aide.
